If you need gas, go get it now…don’t wait! For the first time since September, gas prices are on the rise. Local stations are up 8-10 cents overnight…hmmm could it be that a bunch of students are on their way out…or could it be that one of the top busiest travel day is coming up? Naaaaa…You don’t suppose the oil/gas companies are trying to make a few extra bucks at the expense of the drivers? Naaaaa

Apple Releases 10.5.6 – Come and Get It
Apple has released a new point release to its OS today. It was expected to be released this past Friday, but I guess it needed another layer of paint or something. I usually wait about a week or so before installing to make sure there aren’t any wide spread problems…that is unless there is a major bug fix (not typical with Apple though). Here is a link to an article that describes the changes:

The Minds of the Big 3 CEOs
Autoblog is one of the bigger car related blogs out there, and one I follow almost on a daily basis. I am sure most of you are aware of the current auto crisis which had the Big 3 CEOs in DC over the past few weeks with their hands out. Regardless of how you feel about an “auto bailout”, Autoblog has been drafting humorous stories to go with each new update to the CEOs saga. They have added pictures to each entry with talking bubbles you typically see in a comic book. I know it had me laughing as each new entry was posted, and they were nice enough to post all of the pictures in one gallery for all to see. If you have a minute I suggest clicking on the link below. Might make you lose your case of the Mundays

Baltimore Ravens Can Clinch A Playoff Spot…But I Have No Idea How?!?
Here are the ways that the Ravens can secure a playoff spot this weekend:
1) A win against the Steelers and New England loss and N.Y. Jets loss or tie – OK I get this one…however all this happening is pretty improbable.
2) A win against the Steelers and New England loss and MIA loss or tie – OK I get this one too…but why does it make a difference if the Jets lose or Miami loses? I am confused?
3) A win against the Steelers and Miami loss and N.Y. Jets loss and Indianapolis loss or tie – That is a lot of stuff that has to happen…is this even possible?? What stars have to align for the Ravens to win, and then also have three others teams lose…or…OR if Indy ties…how does that play into it?
4) A win and Miami loss and N.Y. Jets loss and Indianapolis clinches strength of victory tiebreaker over Miami — I don’t even know what that means…is that a sentence?!?
All I know is that for any of these to happen the Ravens have to beat the Steelers…why don’t we start with that!

Jay Leno To Leave “The Tonight Show” But Stay With NBC in Prime Time
What an interesting turn of events. Jay’s forced retirement from “The Tonight Show” will be coming in May. The move was to give the reins to Conan O’Brien to keep him on the network. NBC execs though Jay would go quietly into the sunset, but that was before other networks were calling to see if he wanted to work with them. Now out of NBC comes word that Jay might be starting a 5-night a week, prime time show starting at 10pm once me moves on from his 11:35 slot. At first I thought it was a silly idea, but come to think about it, I might actually tune into a show comedy talk show if it was on earlier…11:30 is just too late for me to stay up and watch. I first read about it in the Baltimore Sun, so here is a link if you want to read more:
Great Photoshop Ad of the Auto Bailout
I frequent the blog “The Truth About Cars” on a regular basis, and they had this hilarious photoshop of a car ad that seems to be true with the current auto bailout being discussed. Now I for one am for the bailout, but the following picture still made me laugh

Gas Now At $1.49
Continuing our Gas Watch series of posts, I just wanted to let folks know that gas prices have reached a new milestone…it has broken the $1.50 barrier. I really never thought I would have seen the day…especially seeing that gas was over 4 bucks just 4 months ago. I guess that’s what happens during a recession.
Now that I am using wordpress I hope to introduce a Gas Buddy type widget that will keep better track of the local gas prices and the locations. I could use Gas Buddy’s widget, but I wanted to try and come up with something on my own. Hopefully I will have more soon.
