Sad Day in Star Trek Land

Filed under: Media — Bill @ 11:11 AM

I just read that Majel Barrett (Gene Roddenberry’s widow) passed away a few days before Christmas from leukemia.  She was 76 years old.  Her memorial was on Sunday in California with family and friends.  Though most would not recognize her from the early days of Star Trek, some might know her from the reprising role she played on TNG, and DS9.  She was also the voice of the computer for the Enterprise and Voyager.  Though Star Trek has hit a bit of a dry spell as of late, I hope at some point someone can come up with a story that will bring its popularity back.  Though I am looking forward to the movie, I am not really getting my hopes up.  For those who want to read more about Majel’s passing, here is a decent article on her life:
