The Orioles have added Koji Uehara to their roster yesterday, signing him to a 2 year 10 million dollar contract. Koji was part of the Yomiuri Giants for 10 years winning several awards including the Japanese equivalent of the Cy Young award. I applaud the signing, but I am skeptical that even with his great stats, that there wasn’t much demand for him here in the US. He relies on pin-point control, not necessarily his fastball which could get him into trouble with the MLB. I am excited to see the O’s expand their reach, and hope that this is really just a first step in the O’s international scouting presence. Now lets see if we can find some more starting pitching before the season starts…we cannot compete with a 2 man rotation! Click the link below to read a bit more on this signing:

Steve Jobs To Take Leave of Absence Until June
What a big shocker to those who follow Apple. First Steve was fine, then he had a hormone imbalance…then he didn’t show up for MacWorld, and now he is stepping down for six months. It appears his illness whatever it might be is worse than reported. Apple will be in the hands of Tim Cook, COO, who took over way back in ‘04 when Steve was battling cancer. This will be a test run of sorts to see how the company can do without it’s messiah steering the ship. If you have the money, Apple stock tumbled last night and into today, it might be a bargin for those with a few extra bucks in their pocket (I know there are not many of us like that). If you would like some more info here is an article. Enjoy!
Don’t Need To Go To D.C. To See Obama
Obama will be taking a really long route to the inauguration this year. Obama will be taking a train ride from Philly down to D.C. to get to his swearing in. During his trip he will be making a stop in Baltimore on Saturday to make a speech downtown. The speech will be open to the public (whoever can withstand the sub-freezing temperatures expected on Saturday). For more info on the speech location, times, and how to get there click the link below:
