Hurricane Bill Becomes a Cat 4 Storm

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 6:56 AM

Since Hurricane William was nothing but disappointment a few years ago, I am glad that a Hurricane Bill has shown that he’s got some muscle behind him.  It appears that he is going to stay out in the ocean for the most part (I don’t like to irritate beach goers you know), and maybe make land fall up in Canada…yeah I don’t care for those Canadians very much :-P

JetBlue Offering All You Can Fly For $599

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 7:02 AM

JetBlue is offering what amounts to a flying all-you-can eat buffet from Sept 8th to Oct 8th.  For 599 you can fly to anywhere they fly as many times as you like.  You have to order your tickets at least 3 days in advance, and you can only fly once a day, but there aren’t too many other restrictions.  Seeing some east coast-west coast trips can cost around 400 bucks to begin with, for those that need to fly frequently this isn’t too bad a deal.  The biggest restriction is if you don’t show up they will charge you 100 bucks, and take your pass away, so don’t miss your flight.  Head over to JetBlue.com if you want more details.

Graduate Sues School Because She Cannot Find a Job

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 2:55 PM

A ex-student from Monroe College in NY is suing her Alma mater because she hasn’t been able to find a job in the three months since she has graduated.  The lawsuit asks for her tuition to be reimbursed to the tune of 70,000 dollars plus 2,000 dollars for the stress she has been through.  She claims that the career services center only wanted to help people with really good grades and who had a better chance at getting a job. Trina Thompson is also complaining that with her wonderful grade point average and her wonderful attendance record(?!?) that every company should be jumping at the opportunity to hire her.  By the way her wonderful GPA: 2.7.  That’s right a 2.7!  She claims that career services should be getting companies to interview her and that she really shouldn’t be required to do much of anything because her credentials are so good.  I could say so much more about how this lady should be dropped on her head, or shown that there are families who are losing their homes because people with years of job experience aren’t able to find a job even after a year of being unemployed.

If you’d like a chuckle you can read the rest of the story here.

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 6:51 AM

I am quite the Taco Bell fan.  I love me some quasi-Mexican food.  So when I saw the list of 11 little know facts about Taco Bell I thought I would share.  Like did you know that Taco Bell changed it’s logo after the release of the movie Demolition Man?  For those who don’t remember, Taco Bell was the only restaurant to survive in the future and was very prominently seen throughout the movie.  For the other 10 click the link below.

I Thought MD/DC Drivers Were Terrible – Now It’s Confirmed

Filed under: Cars, Random — Bill @ 8:38 AM

When I was younger…heck even today I have those conversations that go like “Maryland drivers are the worst, or Pennsylvania drivers are the worst.  Well it’s official: Baltimore drivers are second to worst, and the worst…Washington DC drivers.  Allstate did a study on how often accidents occur in metro areas, and Baltimore and DC had the worst rate of fender benders and accidents.  The best…not too far away: Alexandria VA was the safest driving area.  So now I can officially say that I grew up with the worst drivers in the country!

“20-10″ or “0-10″ or “‘10″?

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 2:39 PM

Ever since 2001, it’s been easy to label the year we are in ‘01, ‘02, etc.  That is until 2010.  My employer’s fiscal year started on July 1st, so we are officially in fiscal year 2010.  The question I have is, how to say it…20-10, or just 10, or 0-10, as in 0-9?

Your guess is as good as mine.  I don’t think they have standards for these types of things do they?

Death Usually Comes In 3’s. This Week It Is 4 – Billy Mays Passed Away This Weekend!

Filed under: Random — Bill @ 2:42 PM

The hits just keep on coming.  First Ed McMahon, then Farrah Fawcett, then Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays.  The loud seller of commercial products un-expectantly passed away in his sleep Saturday night.  He was only 50 years old…the same age as Michael Jackson.  They usually say death comes in threes, but this week 3 wasn’t good enough I guess.  Thank goodness tomorrow starts a new week.  Now with Billy gone, and Vince in a bunch of legal troubles, who will sell our trinkets on tv?
